Boodles, the luxury family-owned British jeweller, has appointed Run Communications to amplify its sponsorship of the Cheltenham Boodles Gold Cup in its centenary year.
The race will take place on Friday 17 March 2024 during the Cheltenham Festival.
Britain’s leading fine jeweller since 1798, and recent winner of the Best British Luxury Brand of the Year award by Walpole, has supported the Blue Riband event since 2022 when Rachael Blackmore partnered A Plus Tard to a historic victory, becoming the first female jockey to succeed in the race.
As part of the partnership, Run will deliver a strategic media relations campaign and digital communications aimed at highlighting Boodles’ continued support of the race as it celebrates its 100th year.
Run, the Brighton and Hove based agency set up by Steve Chisholm in 2012, will work with the family-owned brand to highlight the partnership and the charitable endeavours that will result from next year’s centenary across mainstream and digital media. The agency also works for a range of clients including The National Lottery, MCC (Marylebone Cricket Club) & Lord’s Cricket Ground and British Rowing.
The Boodles Cheltenham Gold Cup is one of a number of events across the UK and overseas that the luxury jewellers are involved with.
Michael Wainwright, Boodles Managing Director, commented:
“We couldn’t be prouder to be supporting the Cheltenham Boodles Gold Cup again in this unforgettable centenary year. We want to place Boodles at the heart of the action and working with an agency of Run Communications calibre will help us to deliver on this. Run bring a wealth of knowledge and experience across the media and sporting landscape and we’re very excited to be working together.”
Run Communications Founder, Steve Chisholm, added:
“It’s a real privilege to be working with the Boodles team. There is no bigger event in jump racing than the Cheltenham Boodles Gold Cup, and we are delighted to bring the vision of Michael and the Boodles team to life with a programme of creative communications activity in the build-up to the race in March.”
