Run Communications has appointed digital communications expert Mark Gilbert as its latest senior hire, as well as recruiting Mark Coughlan to run the digital and social communications.
Mark Gilbert has joined the agency on a consultancy basis to bolster its digital offering for current clients and grow new business in 2020 and beyond.
Prior to joining Run, Mark spent four years at the Football Association as Head of Digital Communications, transforming the organisation’s content output. He led strategies for a host of high-profile events, including World Cup 2014, the 2015 Women’s World Cup and Euro 2016.
Mark oversaw the content team for The R&A at The Open in 2017, before joining Virgin to lead content and brand for the launch of their sportsbook. Since returning to consultancy, Mark has worked with PR and sports marketing agencies, technology start-ups and the global sports charity Laureus.
Mark Coughlan has joined the agency on a full-time basis to help grow the social media channels of both clients and the agency.
Prior to joining the team, Mark spent over three years leading the digital communications at Richmond Rugby Club and Wentworth Golf Club. He ran social media campaigns around the BMW PGA Championship, a world-record women’s rugby match and a charity cricket game featuring Kevin Pietersen, Brian Lara and a host of other high-profile names.
Mark has previously undertaken digital work for Rugby World, ESPN and The Times, as well as working as a writer for Sport Magazine for four years.
