Run Communications is pleased to announce that following four years based at the agency’s Brighton office, Charlie Benny will be launching Run’s first international office based in Tokyo, Japan.
The venture will see Charlie take up a role leading on new opportunities in the Asia-Pacific region.
Tokyo will host a number of major events this year including the World Athletics Championships.
Since joining the team in 2021, Charlie has supported a number of Run’s key clients, primarily delivering on purpose-driven campaigns and sport’s social impact – including for UK Sport, ParalympicsGB, and UK Coaching.
Most recently he also led the Paris 2024 social impact campaign ‘ChangeMakers’, a partnership between the new operator of The National Lottery, Allwyn, UK Sport, Team GB and ParalympicsGB, supporting athletes to get involved with social impact projects they are personally passionate about.
Charlie Benny reflected on his new role:
“I am hugely excited to be leading Run’s first ever international venture. We are all passionate about the ways in which sport can change lives for the better and deliver positive social value for our communities. To achieve this, we can learn so much from the ways in which physical activity is considered differently across international communities. It is by working together, and understanding the ways in which sport connects us, that we will make the true positive difference we all want to be a part of.”
Steve Chisholm, Founder, Run Communications, added:
“Run is delighted to launch our first exploration into international markets. I am delighted that Charlie has agreed to support Run in Japan and I am sure that he will be a great success’.
Run Communications works with key clients The National Lottery, Paralympics GB, parkrun, MCC/Lords, ‘Play Their Way’, British Triathlon, Swim England, Boodles, the EFL and UK Coaching.
